Barça to Host Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
