Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's achievements, its talented cast also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards throughout the show.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only 4 categories—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by reviewers.
