Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet landed following standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the first time that a American defense plane carrying a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was required to return to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
