Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
