Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
